Budgam, Aug 13 (KNO): Hundreds of Kashmiri Pandits gathered at Mata Raghniya, temple in Raithan, Budgam, to participate in the annual prayers.
This tradition, which has been upheld for the last many years, saw a large turnout this year, with community members coming together to seek blessings and celebrate their heritage.
According to details gathered by the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the devotees, many of whom travelled from different parts, expressed their deep connection to the shrine and the importance of continuing these age-old rituals despite the challenges faced by the community over the years.
“Mata Raghniya Sheela Asthapan holds a very special place in our hearts,” said Vinod Kaul, a devotee who had travelled from Delhi. “Coming here each year is not just about the prayers; it's about reconnecting with our roots and keeping our culture alive,” he said.
The atmosphere was filled with devotion as the Pandits chanted hymns and offered their prayers in a show of unity and faith.
Ramesh Pandita, another participant, said, “It is heartening to see so many of us here, especially the younger ones. This gives us hope that our cultural and religious practices will continue to be upheld by future generations.”
Meanwhile, the administration had made necessary arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the prayers, including security measures and logistical support—(KNO)
